Luke 4
13 When the devil had finished tempting Jesus, he left him until the next opportunity came.
The devil is the source of temptation, and make no mistake about it, he looks for the next opportunity to come around. After trying to temp Jesus three times and failing, Luke records that the devil left Jesus “until the next opportunity came.” That means there were other opportunities, other temptations, so Jesus had to stay on guard. So do I. Unfortunately, unlike Jesus, I often fail in this regard. Lord, I ask this day that You would strengthen me to be able to withstand the temptations from the devil. May my life glorify You always.
