Come Quickly Lord Jesus

Mark 13

34 “The coming of the Son of Man can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. When he left home, he gave each of his slaves instructions about the work they were to do, and he told the gatekeeper to watch for his return. 35 You, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know when the master of the household will return—in the evening, at midnight, before dawn, or at daybreak. 36 Don’t let him find you sleeping when he arrives without warning. 37 I say to you what I say to everyone: Watch for him!”

Be prepared. Jesus could come back before I finish typing this journal thought. I need to be ready for His return. What if Christians today lived like they believed that Jesus could come back at any minute now? How different would our lives be? The 1st century Christians believed that Jesus could come back any minute. They loved each other and shared their belongings, taking care of one another. They weren’t interested in earthly investments, instead they invested in eternal matters. We American Christians are far more interested in our comfort than in the coming of Jesus. We have bought into the culture allowing it to influence us far more than we have influenced the culture. Jesus is coming, and He could come at any moment. Lord, find me ready for Your return! Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
