Getting Loud

Psalm 150

1 Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary;

praise him in his mighty heaven!

2 Praise him for his mighty works;

praise his unequaled greatness!

3 Praise him with a blast of the ram’s horn;

praise him with the lyre and harp!

4 Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;

praise him with strings and flutes!

5 Praise him with a clash of cymbals;

praise him with loud clanging cymbals.

6 Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord!
Praise the Lord!

As a worship leader, I would LOVE to bring in a ram’s horn, lyre and harp, tambourine, strings, flutes and cymbals into the Sunday morning Celebration Service! I know this Psalm was written under the Old Covenant, and we are now worshipping in the New Covenant, but I think that the corporate gathering to give praise and glory and honor to God should be rowdy at times. Yeah, I like the quiet times of worship too, but I LOVE it when we get a little loud in our praise of the Creator of everything and the Author of life!
