Obedient

Luke 2

51 Then he returned to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. And his mother stored all these things in her heart.

52 Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people.

Jesus was obedient. Not just to His heavenly Father, but to His earthly parents as well. At the age of 12, his parents “lost” him during a trip to Jerusalem. A panic-stricken three day search found him in the Temple asking questions of the religious leaders, astonishing them with His understanding. When his overwrought parents found him (and I can just imagine what Joseph’s andMary’s states of mind were like at that time), Jesus simply replies that they should not have been worried, and that they should have known where He would be. Nevertheless, he returned to Nazareth and was obedient to His parents. When Jesus teaches that we are to be obedient, this is just one more area of life where He serves as the Perfect Example. Help me to live a more obedient life, Lord.
