Deuteronomy 8
11 “But that is the time to be careful! Beware that in your plenty you do not forget the Lord your God and disobey his commands, regulations, and decrees that I am giving you today.”
As the children of Israel prepare to enter the Promised Land, Moses is relaying God’s instructions to them. Glorify the Lord through your character
Loosen your grip on this world
Open your heart to the Lord
Repent of your sins
Yearn for God.
It is that Loosen your grip on this world that the children of Israel are being warned about here. When we are in times of plenty, we humans have a tendency forget that such blessings come from God Himself. To forget that Truth is to turn your back on the Lord God Himself. May that never be the case in my life!
