Lost Sheep

Jeremiah 50
6 “My people have been lost sheep.
Their shepherds have led them astray
and turned them loose in the mountains.
They have lost their way
and can’t remember how to get back to the sheepfold.
7 All who found them devoured them.
Their enemies said,
‘We did nothing wrong in attacking them,
for they sinned against the LORD,
their true place of rest,
and the hope of their ancestors.’"

This could easily be a promise God makes to Christians around the world today. Especially Christian Americans: we are lost sheep whose shepherds have led astray. We have plenty of preachers teaching stuff that is not found in the pages of the Bible and trying to convince people that their teachings are Truth. Others take passages from the Bible out of context to twist them for their own purposes. May I never do that, Lord. Keep me from the sin of making Your Word say what I want it to say. Instead, may my words line up with what Your Word says. May those of us who desire to follow Christ do so wholeheartedly and may we never forget how to get back to You, lest our enemies devour us.
