Proverbs 23
13 Don’t fail to discipline your children.
They won’t die if you spank them.
14 Physical discipline
may well save them from death.
Don’t you just love the way the NLT puts these verses? I certainly do! As a parent who used corporal punishment in the discipline arsenal, I can attest that spanking my kids didn’t kill them! Now, spanking is just one of the options in the discipline arsenal, it is a last resort, and it is never done in the heat of the moment. Using this mindset, the Board of Education served its function for our three kids. In fact, our oldest has already asked if he may have the Board of Education for when he is a Daddy, himself!
