Don't Worry...PRAY!

Proverbs 12

25 Worry weighs a person down;
an encouraging word cheers a person up.

My Dad is a consummate worrier. He always has been. I recently came across a couple of tweets from Rick Warren dealing with the subject of worrying, and I copied them, printed them, and gave them to Dad. They say:

“Worry is a 100% waste of emotion. It cannot change the past. It will not change the future. It just ruins today.”

Then, “If you prayed instead of worrying, you’d have a lot less to worry about.”

Now THAT is a word of encouragement regarding worrying, my friends. May we pray instead of worrying. May we hand it all over to the Lord instead of stewing about it. May we remember that we can’t do anything without God anyway, so why worry? Give it to God!
