My Heart Is Confident In God

Psalm 108

  1 My heart is confident in you, O God;
      no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart!
 2 Wake up, lyre and harp!
      I will wake the dawn with my song.
 3 I will thank you, Lord, among all the people.
      I will sing your praises among the nations.
 4 For your unfailing love is higher than the heavens.
      Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
 5 Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens.
      May your glory shine over all the earth.

With everything going on these days in my brother Ed’s life (and it is plenty stinky), as well as in my Dad’s life (with prostate cancer diagnosis and more), with Peggy’s life (pinched nerve in her back), with Ian’s life (jobless for more than six months now), whew, I could get really depressed. However, I serve a God Who has it all under control. I am thankful that while I cannot see how any of this is going to work itself out, He already knows. All I know is that I will give God the glory. My heart is confident in God, and I will proclaim His praises every day. I have a sense of peace that passes understanding, and the Source of that peace is Jesus.
