If We Are The Body

Matthew 20
25 But Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. 26 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. 28 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Mark Hall of Casting Crowns, wrote these words that became the chorus to the song “If We Are The Body”:
But if we are the Body
Why aren't His arms reaching
Why aren't His hands healing
Why aren't His words teaching
And if we are the Body
Why aren't His feet going
Why is His love not showing them there is a way
There is a way

It makes me sad that we struggle to get members of the body of Christ to serve others. Oh, they love to be served, but don’t ask them to participate in outreach ministry. They might serve in some internal ministry at the church, but only a few seem to ever be ready to do things like Habitat for Humanity, etc. I wonder if we are REALLY being the body of Christ?
