Hosea 4
1 Hear the word of the Lord, O people of Israel!
The Lord has brought charges against you, saying:
“There is no faithfulness, no kindness,
no knowledge of God in your land.”
The Church is the modern day equivalent to Israel of the Old Testament. The same words God spoke through Hosea to Israel apply to the Church in America today. The Church has become fat and lazy, adhering to the teachings of man rather than searching the Holy Scriptures to see what God has to say. We have ceded our responsibility to the “least of these among us” to the government, and we have idly stood by while the secularists kick God out of public discussion unless of course God is being cursed or made fun of. Meanwhile, the Church clusters in its “holy huddles” thinking it is pleasing God. Makes me sad beyond words. I know that it breaks God’s heart, and until it breaks the hearts of those who claim to follow Christ, I see no end in sight to the withdrawal of God’s Favor from the American Church.
