Count The Cost

Proverbs 20

25 Don’t trap yourself by making a rash promise to God

and only later counting the cost.

The Old Testament is filled with examples of folks who made rash promises to God. It cost them their children, their livelihood, and more. Jesus says that we must count the cost before making a decision to follow Him. Following Christ means giving EVERYTHING over to Him. He will not be Lord of most of our life. He requires us to acknowledge Him as Lord over ALL our life. This morning, I have counted the cost. Following Jesus is what I desire, everything else is rubbish by comparison. I do not make this decision lightly, nor rashly. Jesus, to You I say: whatever You want me to do, wherever You want me to go, I will follow You.
