Pass It On

Psalm 78

1 O my people, listen to my instructions.

Open your ears to what I am saying,

2 for I will speak to you in a parable.

I will teach you hidden lessons from our past—

3 stories we have heard and known,

stories our ancestors handed down to us.

4 We will not hide these truths from our children;

we will tell the next generation

about the glorious deeds of the Lord,

about his power and his mighty wonders.

Having been in student ministry for more than two decades now, I LOVE those who want to pass on the instructions of the LORD to the next generation. The next generation is NOT the church of tomorrow, they are the church of today. If we lose them now, there will be no church tomorrow. One of the saddest lessons from the Old Testament is that the instructions of the LORD were not properly passed along, and the next generation turned its back on God. Over and over again. May it not be so with us. We’ve just celebrated Resurrection Sunday…let us boldly proclaim that Jesus is Alive to everyone, every day!
