Giving What Is Due

Luke 20

25 “Well then,” he said, “give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God.”

Jesus makes it as plain as can be...while we live on this planet, we need to be subject to the laws of the land, giving to the government what is due the government. That means, paying taxes, doing jury duty, serving in the armed forces, etc. We are also to give to God what belongs to God. We are to give justice, mercy, love, grace, and not just say those words, but live them out in practical ways every day. We (not the government), are supposed to take care of the widows and orphans, to draw others to Christ, and to give God the glory always. As Christians in America, we have generally failed miserably at this, haven’t we?
