Grain of Sand

Isaiah 40

14 Has the LORD ever needed anyone’s advice?
Does he need instruction about what is good?
Did someone teach him what is right
or show him the path of justice?
15 No, for all the nations of the world
are but a drop in the bucket.
They are nothing more
than dust on the scales.
He picks up the whole earth
as though it were a grain of sand.

I just finished reading Francis Chan’s “Crazy Love.” One of the exercises while reading that book is to go to www.crazylovebook.com and watch a video he produced which shows the physical insignificance of the earth in the galaxy and beyond. You wind up getting a view back towards the Milky Way from a million light years away. Yeah, to say that the earth is a grain of sand when compared to the Greatness of God, well understatement doesn’t begin to cover it. How dare we think we can negotiate with God. How humbling it is to think that God loves us and is interested in the intimate details of our lives.
