Psalm 120
6 I am tired of living
among people who hate peace.
7 I search for peace;
but when I speak of peace, they want war!
I’m thinking of my brother Darren this morning. Had some email correspondence with him. He is struggling with some issues related to his job, and the people with whom he is surrounded, who whine and complain all the time (it is his job to “fix” things so that the whining stops). The constant negativity is getting to him. The selfish attitudes of the people to whom he is responsible is weighing him down. The Psalmist here can relate. Both the Psalmist and Darren are crying out to God for relief. I join them in this cry especially on behalf of my brother Darren today.
