Praying for Ian

Psalm 44

23 Wake up, O Lord! Why do you sleep?
Get up! Do not reject us forever.
24 Why do you look the other way?
Why do you ignore our suffering and oppression?
25 We collapse in the dust,
lying face down in the dirt.
26 Rise up! Help us!
Ransom us because of your unfailing love.

This morning, Ian, my beloved son, got up to go to a temporary work assignment. he was supposed to be there by 6:15, left the house by 5:45, got to the work site, and there was no one there to instruct him or even talk to him. He tried calling the person with whom he had spoken about the job, but got no answer. So, he turned around, came home, and went to bed in what is no doubt a very depressed state of mind. I am crushed for him. Lord, help me to be an encouragement to him to get him back on his feet this day.
