For Such A Time As This

13 Mordecai sent this reply to Esther: “Don’t think for a moment that because you’re in the palace you will escape when all other Jews are killed. 14 If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”

This is perhaps the most famous passage from the book of Esther, and while I want to keep things in their proper context, I do believe thee is a message for us today here. Don’t think for a moment that just because we live in the United States of America with all the wealth and extravagance we truly do possess, that we are off the hook for one moment. It is our duty as Christians to live like Christ, to love like Christ and to share Christ with others around our communities and around the globe! As followers of Christ, we have been placed in this nation at this time for His purpose. Shame on us for forgetting that even for one moment.
