Mark 2
27 Then Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath. 28 So the Son of Man is Lord, even over the Sabbath!”
The Sabbath was designed to be a day of rest and reflection on the LORD. It is a day set aside to honor God and to REST. The Jewish religious leaders had turned the Sabbath into a day filled with lots of do’s and don’ts, regulations and rules, blah, blah, blah. Jesus came to throw out all of that manmade stuff, and help people reconnect with God on a personal level. The Son of Man is Lord, even over the Sabbath!
