Strength in the Lord

1 Samuel 30

6 David was now in great danger because all his men were very bitter about losing their sons and daughters, and they began to talk of stoning him. But David found strength in the Lord his God.

Things have gone as badly as they could have for David and his army. Invaders have gone to their hometown and taken the women captive (including David’s wives), while destroying their homes. The men of David’s army are less than pleased with their leader at the moment. “But David found strength in the Lord his God.” This has been one of the most trying weeks of my life. But I am finding my strength in the Lord my God. Thank You, God, for helping me not only survive this week, but to draw closer to You because of it.
