Judges 17
6 In those days Israel had no king; all the people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes.
This is one of the saddest passages of Scripture ever. It does remind me of people in this nation today. See, when Jesus is NOT the King of our lives, we humans have the tendency to do whatever is right in our own eyes. So, the moral decay in which America finds itself in 2010 should come as no surprise. We kicked God out of the public discourse nearly 50 years ago. We have effectively raised two generations of Americans without the same basic Christian foundation that was in place for the first two centuries of this nation’s history. Why should we be surprised at the decidedly pagan turn the people of this nation have taken? We shouldn’t.
