Remembrance and Repentance

Zechariah 1
2 “I, the LORD, was very angry with your ancestors. 3 Therefore, say to the people, ‘This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: Return to me, and I will return to you, says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.’ 4 Don’t be like your ancestors who would not listen or pay attention when the earlier prophets said to them, ‘This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: Turn from your evil ways, and stop all your evil practices.’”

On this Day of Remembrance (9/11) in America, the message contained in this passage of Scripture could not be more appropriate. God is calling His own to return to Him. For far too long, Christians in America have taken God for granted. I saw a survey the other day that said 69% of Christian Women are committed to their marriage, and that was the high number in the survey! That means 3 out of 10 Christian Women are not committed to honor their marriage vows, and the numbers are higher for men who claim to be Christian! This makes me sick! While we need to remember the lives taken from us on 9/11, we also need to remember the Life given for us so that we could liver eternally. We need to return to the LORD in repentance.
