Zechariah 7
8 Then this message came to Zechariah from the LORD: 9 “This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: Judge fairly, and show mercy and kindness to one another. 10 Do not oppress widows, orphans, foreigners, and the poor. And do not scheme against each other.”
Why is it that we “modern day” followers of the LORD of heaven’s Armies think that He has changed His mind on how we should treat the “least of these”? Why is it that those of us who call ourselves Christian in America want to abdicate our responsibility to the government? WE are called to judge fairly, show kindness, to show kindness and mercy, not to oppress the widows, orphans, foreigners and the poor. Yet, we are quite content to let the Nanny State government take our responsibility. Shame on us. We have schemed against not only one another, but against God.
