Acts 9
31 The church then had peace throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria, and it became stronger as the believers lived in the fear of the Lord. And with the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, it also grew in numbers.
We most often think about the church growing in times of great persecution, but check this out: in a time of peace, the church became stronger and grew in numbers. Through encouragement of the Holy Spirit, this is the NORM for the church. I have thought about praying for a time of persecution so that the church could get back to its mission, but my prayers now will focus on the church being able to focus during times of peace, and may peace strengthen the church causing its numbers to grow!
