Revelation 10
1Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven. He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun, and his legs were like fiery pillars. 2He was holding a little scroll, which lay open in his hand. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, 3and he gave a loud shout like the roar of a lion. When he shouted, the voices of the seven thunders spoke.
I love it when Scripture gives descriptions of angels. Nowhere in God’s Word are angels pictured as cute little cherubs with blonde hair and rosy cheeks. Everywhere angels are discussed there is fear among the people who see them. John describes this particular angel as having a face like the sun, burning pillars for legs, and a roaring lion voice like seven thunders. What a phenomenal looking creature! And he is simply a messenger of God! If this creature is the messenger, I can only imagine what the Almighty Creator of Heaven and Earth must look like (actually He is described in Revelation as a bejeweled Being with flaming eyes, a sword coming out of His mouth etc. WOAH!)!!
