2 Corinthians 11
1 I hope you will put up with a little more of my foolishness. Please bear with me. 2 For I am jealous for you with the jealousy of God himself. I promised you as a pure bride to one husband—Christ. 3 But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent. 4 You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed.
I’ve been in a Facebook conversation with a recent graduate of a Bible college who does not believe that hell is an eternal place. Yeah, it is complicated, but it makes me sad that a guy can graduate from a Bible college without a full understanding of Scripture. He wants to lean toward the liberal, God-is-only-love side of things without considering the Righteous and Holy side of God. The sad thing is that this guy is working with teens in the church. Let me just say this: I will take God’s Word at its Word. When Jesus says (in Mt. 25:41) there is a place of eternal fire set aside for folks, and the Greek word translated in that verse means “without beginning and end, that which always has been and always will be” well, I guess I’ll believe Jesus and not some puffed up college graduate. Take the Bible at its Word, don’t let anyone lead you astray!
