Galatians 6
1 Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. 2 Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. 3 If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.
A few keys to this passage: #1 if a Christian is living a pagan lifestyle, or is giving in to temptation heading towards sin, it is the DUTY of those of us who are Christians to gently and humbly bring them back to Christ. Not in a judgmental way, but in a loving way. #2 if a fellow believer comes to me to point out something I need to have corrected in my life, I have no reason to be offended or upset. They are simply doing their Christian duty. #3 we are to share each other’s burdens, that is an act of obedience and worship! #4 Nobody who claims to be a follower of Christ is too “important” to help someone else. I love how this passage ends: “You are not that important.”
