Clothing of Salvation

Isaiah 61

10 I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God!

For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation

and draped me in a robe of righteousness.

I am like a bridegroom in his wedding suit

or a bride with her jewels.

While Isaiah didn’t know the “clothing” of which he spoke, we now do know! Galatians 3:27 says that those of us who are baptized into Christ have been clothed with Christ. Such clothing is our salvation! This morning, I cannot help but rejoice in the new clothing given me on August 27, 1985, when I was baptized into Christ! My clothing of salvation is the only clothing about which I care!
