Romans 1
16 For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile. 17 This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
The Good News tells us how God makes us right in His sight. It is the Gospel that contains the formula for salvation. It is the Gospel that instructs us what must be done in order to be saved. This Gospel preached to the Ethiopian official in Acts 8, to the household of Cornelius in Acts 10, to the Philippian Jailer and his family in Acts 16, results in the immediate obedience from these folks to the instructions contained therein. They are made right in God’s sight. This Gospel is the same today: through faith we must believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. We must repent of our sins, and be buried with Jesus in baptism (immersion), and THEN in God’s sight we will be made right. I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes.
