Daniel 3
24 But suddenly, Nebuchadnezzar jumped up in amazement and exclaimed to his advisers, “Didn’t we tie up three men and throw them into the furnace?”
“Yes, Your Majesty, we certainly did,” they replied.
25 “Look!” Nebuchadnezzar shouted. “I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a god!”
Most of us are familiar with this story from Daniel about three guys who get thrown into the fiery furnace because they refused to bow down to an idol, and while they are in the furnace, a 4th guy is with them, who looks like a “god.” It is so comforting to me to know that Jesus is with me in the midst of trials and tribulations. I will be labeled part of the “angry mob” by the current political administration in this country because I won’t bow down to the idol of socialism the politicians are trying to cram down our throats. Throw me in the furnace and whether God decides to rescue me from that furnace or simply walk with me through it, I will NOT bow down to the idols this country seems to be demanding of its citizens.
