Psalm 33
1 Let the godly sing for joy to the Lord; it is fitting for the pure to praise him. 2 Praise the Lord with melodies on the lyre; make music for him on the ten-stringed harp. 3 Sing a new song of praise to him; play skillfully on the harp, and sing with joy. 4 For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. 5 He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth.
As a worship arts minister, I LOVE this passage from Psalm 33. It is fitting for the pure to praise the Lord, and we are made pure through the Blood of Jesus that covers our sins when we come to Him in repentance and are buried with Him in Baptism. This morning, I have been putting together a list of “new” songs the praise team will be working on over the next several months. Some of the songs in this list are written by Rich Mullins, thus, the use of “new” here. Some are brand new, many are not. All give praise and glory and honor to our LORD. May His Name be praised always, not just by our lips or our musical instruments, but by our very lives! The Word of the LORD holds true, and I desire to be an instrument of His unfailing love for the people in this world who are desperately seeking answers. As a Christ Follower, I know THE Answer, and I desire to point people to Him by the way I live. May God receive all the glory always!
