Wisdom

Proverbs 3

13 Joyful is the person who finds wisdom,
the one who gains understanding.
14 For wisdom is more profitable than silver,
and her wages are better than gold.
15 Wisdom is more precious than rubies;
nothing you desire can compare with her.

Wisdom is found in the Word of God. Wisdom is found in following the Word of God. Wisdom is found in loving and living out the Word of God. I’ll take wisdom over silver & gold any day. I am a far richer man today than I was 25 years ago because of the time I have spent in the Word of God. May my life reflect the wisdom of God, and may this goober stay out of the way so that God’s Word can do what it will in me and through me.

Wisdom

Proverbs 9

11 Wisdom will multiply your days and add years to your life. 12 If you become wise, you will be the one to benefit. If you scorn wisdom, you will be the one to suffer.

Wisdom comes from studying and applying the Word of God to your life. Proverbs talks a lot about the importance of wisdom, and the necessity of having it. I’m simply going to add that I am much wiser when I am in the Word daily, allowing it to fill me, and when I do my best to live by its precepts and teachings.

Wisdom, Discipline, Understanding, Insight

Proverbs 1

1 These are the proverbs of Solomon, David’s son, king of Israel.

2 Their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline,
to help them understand the insights of the wise.
3 Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives,
to help them do what is right, just, and fair.
4 These proverbs will give insight to the simple,
knowledge and discernment to the young.

Ya know, I have read through the book of Proverbs many times, and I could have told you that the purpose is to help one be more discerning and wise, but I can’t honestly say that these verses have ever jumped out at me like they have today! I need wisdom, discipline, understanding, and insight. I need to spend more time not just in the Proverbs, but in the Word! I am so grateful for this “time out” from the busy, wacky world. This respite is EXACTLY what I need every single day!

Wisdom

1 Kings 3

28 When all Israel heard the king’s decision, the people were in awe of the king, for they saw the wisdom God had given him for rendering justice.

I pray for wisdom on a regular basis, because the good Lord knows that I could stand to be more wise. Why is it that I always seem to make the dumb choice? Could it be that I don’t take each choice to God first? Duh! Lord, help me to be so close to You in my daily walk that it is second nature to bring every decision to you in prayer. Only then, will I be on the path to wisdom.
