Proverbs 15
20 Sensible children bring joy to their father;
foolish children despise their mother.
I have had many years of great joy as a parent. Right now, that joy escapes me as I grieve over a child who is intent on turning his back on me, and more importantly on turning his back on God. I pray that it is only a very temporary thing. I am exhausted beyond measure, and I pray for my wayward one. I truly believe it is more an attempt to hurt me than it is an outright rebellion against God, at least I pray that it is what it is. May he despise me all he wants, as long as he doesn’t despise God.
