26 They dragged out the sacred pillar used in the worship of Baal and burned it. 27 They smashed the sacred pillar and wrecked the temple of Baal, converting it into a public toilet, as it remains to this day.
Jehu is wreaking havoc in the Name of the Lord God Almighty when he kills all the worshipers of Baal, and destroys the temple built in honor of Baal. I LOVE what happens to this temple! It’s conversion to a public toilet is most appropriate, because worshiping idols is…well…you should get the picture. Lord, May I be as zealous in my worship of You as Jehu was in carrying out Your desires regarding the family of Ahab, the worshipers of Baal and that temple dedicated to an idol.
